We were well past the place we had gone to train and was even further from where the Damien had started and at this point, we found no sign of the wolves that had pursued us earlier. I and Alice crouched down to catch our breaths. I had panted heavily. I had carried her throughout the entirety of the journey back to the Abode as her legs were too tiny to run as fast as I ran.
