He stopped licking the wounds as he hovered above her thigh.  "Don't do that," he said, his voice tight and forced.  He stopped licking the wounds as he hovered above her thigh.  "Don't do that," he said, his voice tight and forced.  "What?" Hyacinth inquired embarrassingly.  As he was ready to resume licking the wounds, he clarified, "Don't make that sound." She grabbed his hair to stop him from licking but he didn't budge and let her pull his hair uselessly. She tried her best to stop herself from letting out a moan by biting her lower lip until it bled.  The wounds had healed faster with his licking. He moved away from her wounds and looked satisfied as the wounds were less gnarly than before. Hyacinth let out a sigh when it was over. Demetrius saw her bleeding lip and slowly leaned in and hovered his lips over hers. Hyacinth had her eyes closed and felt his breath near hers. She shot her eyes open and slapped his face. She remembered their argument earlier and exclaimed, "I said I can do it myself." She pushed him away, ignoring the tingling in her hands, got out of bed, and rushed up to her room, with him chasing her. Her assailant's body was still lying in front of the bathroom, unconscious. She proceeded to the vials and bottles on the left side table, but they had been shattered and scattered on the floor due to the fighting. She ignored his mate, who was staring at her back, walked to her wardrobe, and pulled on a huge shirt. She exited her room and headed for the stairwell, but Demetrius took her hand in his and turned her around to face him. He asked, "Where are you going?" She couldn't understand her feelings and his actions. She felt like he didn't want her. Her eyes prickled and became blurry with tears as she grabbed a bottle with shaky hands and opened the bottle without knowing the contents. She spread an amount to her wound, but as soon as it touched her flesh, her skin burned, and she dropped the bottle on the floor with the liquid splashing on her leg and feet. She doubled over but Demetrius scooped her up and raced to the bathroom, where he placed her in the bathtub, seized the showerhead, and rinsed the acid over her legs and feet. She was exhausted and had no energy in her bones. She curled up on his arms, seeking his warmth, as he carried her back to the guestroom. He placed her on the bed and drew the blanket to her body. He looked at her in the eyes and pleaded, "Sleep." Hyacinth's eyes began to close from exhaustion and lack of sleep. He nudged strands of her hair away from her eyes and brushed them with his fingers to lull her to sleep. "You got hurt...because of me." He murmured as she blacked out. Demetrius looked at her resting mate. She had black straight hair, a freckled button nose, and luscious pink lips that he wished he could kiss. He was relieved that he arrived on time. His heart pounded in sorrow at the prospect of being even a second late with his mate dead. He trembled with rage as he rose up and approached the attacker, who was still unconscious. He grabbed the man's neck and smashed him against the wall. As Demetrius choked him, the guy awoke and struggled around. "Alpha," the guy coughed out. Demetrius recalled his role as a leader and let the man go.  The guy coughed, "Alpha, What did I do?" as he lowered his head in surrender. Demetrius paced the room, trying to calm down from his rage. "What can you remember?" he questioned. "Alpha, I'm sorry; I'm not sure what I did to anger you," he apologized. Demetrius yelled at the man in the face, "You attacked my mate!" The man turned pale, and his face was filled with dread. "Spare my life, Alpha. I don't know what happened. I would never attack someone voluntarily. Please forgive me," he cried as he bowed at the Alpha's feet with his arm outstretched in front of him. Demetrius glared angrily at the man, unsure what to do with him. Demetrius spotted the circular bruise on the man's shoulder with a needle puncture in the center which appeared to be the same as Alpha Xander's. He calmed down and told the man to rise. Fearing for his life and the Alpha who would put an end to it, the man cowered. "What do you recall from this mark?" Demetrius inquired. The man was perplexed and checked his shoulder. "I don't know, Alpha," he said, "I was probably stung or bitten by an insect in the forest." His suspicions were verified when he learned that this situation was identical to Xander's. Demetrius inquired, "What is the date today?" The guy said, "It's the 28th of January, Sir. The Wolf Moon." This was the full moon 6 months ago.  Demetrius commanded, "State your name, status, and pack." "My name is Jonah, and I'm a border patrol from the Windward pack," he said. He's a member of Alpha Xander's pack. This would conclude that there could also be more men in the windward pack who had the same situation. Demetrius has decided that after the hunting, he will arrange a meeting with Xander to discuss the threat that they could be facing.  "Jonah, this is the second hunt of the year, the pink moon, April 26th," Demetrius explained. "You'll need to return to your pack and have your doctor examine you," he continued, "and inform Alpha Xander of your position." He jumped out of the home and went to the treeline, responding, "Yes, Alpha. I will." Demetrius returned to her mate's guestroom, where she slept well with a charming snore. He chuckled as he quietly climbed into bed alongside her, taking care not to wake her. She locked her gaze on her own face, terrified that she might vanish. He has finally located her after many years, and he will go to any length to defend her from any danger.
