Hyacinth smacked her cheeks to distract her from the nightmare.
She expressed herself enthusiastically, "Let's get up, eat, and stop thinking about the nightmare."
She peered out her window and saw that she hadn't heard nearly as much howling in the last two days. She was famished. She considered all the foods she wished she could eat right now. Chocolates, pizza, fried chicken, sushi, a cheeseburger, and steak sprang to mind. All of her food-related thoughts distracted her from the events of the previous night. She hurried down and came to a halt at the bottom of the staircase. She then recalled the leaves Talina had given her, which she had never used. She palmed her face and ran to retrieve it.
The door handle rattled briefly before she touched it. She retracted her hand and smelt the air, and detected no werewolf scent. She went swiftly walked away from the entrance and into the living room. The closed windows prevented anybody on the outside from seeing the inside. Hyacinth sniffed once more and discovered two people.
'Humans were not meant to be in this section of the forest,' Hyacinth reasoned as she peered through a tiny breach in the curtain to see them.
The two people were armed and were in camouflage clothes.
"It seems to be empty. Let's go.", one of the hunters said as he motioned his companion to join him.
Hyacinth exhaled a breath of relief and waited for the humans to vanish from her field of vision. She flung through the front door and rummaged in the rubbish till she came upon the package of leaves. She walked to the kitchen and began boiling water for the tea while retrieving a large amount of miscellaneous food from the refrigerator. She inhaled deeply of the pizza, but her stink was mingled with the aroma causing her to lose appetite. She scrunched up her nose and decided to take a bath after her meal.
She no longer bothered to remain dressed since she often drenched it each night during her heat. Hyacinth's cheeks became hot as she thought she would certainly be nude when she meets her partner amid the heat.
'I'm not interested in meeting my mate anymore!' she thought embarrassingly.
'Do not say that,' her wolf urged. She was disappointed that their partner had not yet arrived.
'But, we are bare!' Hyacinth retorted.
'So? I am always bare.' Ashana said matter-of-factly.
'You have fur to conceal your skin. I don't!' Hyacinth intervened.
'Yes, you do. You have one down there,' Ashana said as she referred to pubic hair. Hyacinth burst out laughing, almost choking on her pizza. Ashana retreated to the back of her consciousness, unhappy at her inability to comprehend why Hyacinth was laughing at her.
Hyacinth checked the clock and saw it was 10 a.m. She had eight hours till sunset to relax and prepare for whatever was going to occur. She chose to consume the tea Talina had given her for the unknown stage. The majority of women were discovered at the fifth stage. On the sixth day, women had a variety of tales to share, making it difficult to discern what it would be. Hyacinth took the tea and placed it on her nightstand, and proceeded to change her bedsheets in preparation for tonight.
Hyacinth stood outside by her window, watching the sunset.
She really hopes she never reaches the unknown stage. For the seventh day, werewolves continue to flee in the hope of finding a mate. On this sixth day, she wishes her mate was still hunting for her.
As the last beam of sunlight faded, Hyacinth spoke to her wolf.
She glanced around her room but saw nothing, "All right, Ashana, here we go."
She got on the bed and wrapped the chains around her body. She braced herself for the pain, but there was none. She exhaled and closed her eyes, pleased that maybe nothing was on this stage. However, as she opened her eyes to the ceiling, she saw a red-eyed monster. It had long claws, untamed black hair, and razor-sharp fangs, with its pale skin evident in the night's darkness.
When it leaped at Hyacinth, she screamed and closed her eyes, but nothing came. The creature had vanished by the time she opened her eyes again.
Hyacinth's night was filled with screaming as a result of her left-to-right hallucinations. "They are not real. They can't hurt you.", she attempted to convince herself.
She noticed a man and a woman standing near the washroom on the corner. They resembled her parents. As she wailed out, "Mom, Dad," a tear dropped from the corner of her eyes.
She saw them frowning and lowered their gaze to the woman's stomach.
Hyacinth followed their gaze and noticed that she was carrying a baby bump. It seemed as though the baby within was attempting to escape.
The woman's face twisted into a hideous and hysterical appearance as she drew a knife from behind her and placed it above her head. The man supported the woman's hand with his, and together they stabbed the woman in the stomach. Hyacinth gasped and averted her gaze to the other side of the room. She knew that wasn't true, but she felt terrible for being alive while her parents weren't. She summoned the bravery to glance back at them, but they had vanished.
The next thing she knew, the man was standing on the right side of the bed, his fiery eyes fixed on her. The woman was straddling her, grabbing her by the neck, and strangling her. Her white gown had a large hole in the stomach from which blood was flowing. She attempted to inhale, but the hands around her neck seemed very real. She locked her gaze on the woman's ominous grin; her hair concealed the majority of her eyes, but they had the same red hue as the man. Hyacinth yanked on the shackles and broke the chain on her right leg. She wriggled around the bed, and the delusion vanished like smoke. As she attempted to recover her breath, she took gulps of air and realized that she wasn't being strangled; she was hyperventilating.
She sighed as she gazed down at her liberated leg. "I hope the rest will hold together.", she said, concerned.
