12 Celeste Hears Disturbing News We did wear each other out that night. Dinner was spaghetti; nothing special, just what Russ had in the cupboard, but we had our minds on other things. Sleep, when we got around to it, was infinitely sweet. I didn’t even mind the alarm, because it meant waking up with Russ. At some point last evening he’d brought my clothes up from the dryer. I showered and dressed in about five minutes. ‘Wow,’ said Russ. ‘You weren’t kidding—I think that’s a world record for getting ready.’ ‘I’m not much of a primper, I’m afraid.’ ‘Not a problem.
