When Alva woke up, she had a blinding headache. Her stomach was hollowed and full of butterflies. She wanted to vomit but nothing came out of her mouth.
"You must be hungry," Prince Leopold appeared behind her. She was bent over the far side of the cave.
"I need a hot drink!" Alva rinsed her mouth with cold water from the pail. She screamed when she saw the swimming eel in the water. "Eew! It's dirty!" She scrubbed her face with her prisoner's uniform while she sputtered repeatedly.
"That eel shall be our dinner. For now, we have this!" He offered her a dish of swarming worms and insects.
