Wild Imaginations

After Big Margaret and Conrad had left, an oppressive silence descended upon the room. The air was thick with tension, “Leah,” Jeremy said quietly, “what’s going on?” Leah hesitated, her lips trembling as if she wanted to speak but couldn’t. Finally, she turned to him, her eyes filled with a quiet desperation, and shimmered with tears that refused to fall. “I’ll explain everything,” she said softly. “But not here.” The drive back to the mansion was long and quiet. Leah had acted really brave but Jeremy could still sense the fear that Big Margaret's presence had on her. “So, Big Margaret is your aunt? How? I don't understand anything,” Jeremy broke the silence. He was too curious to just wait till they got home. Leah began to shiver as she burst into tears. “She took everything my father ever worked for after he passed away and allowed us to suffer in abject poverty.” Jeremy handed her a handkerchief to wipe her face as he tried to console her. He put her head against his chest. “It's okay. It's okay,” he said. “No, it's not,” she said as she raised her head up and looked at Jeremy. “Big Margaret is a taker. She's evil. If she's out to get you, then you have to be very careful,” Leah warned. Jeremy looked at her keenly, absorbing everything she said. They arrived at the mansion, and after Leah assisted Jeremy, she went straight to her room. She locked herself in and cried her eyes out. Memories of her late father flashed back. He was so strong and fierce, just like Jeremy. He was a loving husband and father. Leah recalled those precious moments where he'd insist on family outings and picnics. He'd kiss them on their cheeks and forehead. His only problem was that he trusted too much. He had the wrong people in his corner. See how they schemed and usurped all he worked for and left his family dry and hanging. Her own aunt! And now she had to bear the burden of caring for her family. She'd had to disguise as a man before and now she was in a contract marriage, all just to fend for her family. She'd keep at it, save enough from this marriage deal with Jeremy and recover what was rightly theirs. There was something else that was insightful to do. She felt like she had to help Jeremy; to protect him. If Big Margaret was out to get him, she would. And she had formed an alliance with Jeremy's former friend, turned enemy. She phoned Noah and he could sense from her voice that she wasn't okay, even though she claimed she was. “Tell me what the matter is, Leah. Do you need me to come around?” Noah asked with concern. “No, no. I'm fine, Noah. How're you? I miss you,” Leah said innocently, but words like that made Noah really excited and hopeful. “I miss you too, Leah. It's hard that we don't get to see everyday like we used to,” Noah said. “You have no idea,” Leah said, her voice breaking. “Tell me, Leah. What happened?” Noah was persistent. “It's Big Margaret. I saw her today,” Leah said as she broke down in tears. “Hold on, Leah. I'll be right there.” Noah said and hung up. Shortly after, there was a knock on the door. Leah sighed, got up and went to open the door. It was Jeremy. He was concerned about her. He had a cup of tea in his hand and handed it to her. “It'll help calm your nerves,” he said. She chuckled. “You didn't have to. Thank you,” she said as she collected it and took a sip. “Are you okay?” He asked. “Yes, sir. I think I am,” Leah replied. “Sir?” Jeremy said, squeezing his eyes. He smiled faintly but didn’t let her off the hook. “No more ‘sir,’ remember? We’re supposed to be a couple for at least six months.” “Oh..I'm sorry,” Leah said, realizing her mistake. “No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry you had to go through all that today. I shouldn't have let you come with me to the office,” Jeremy said, feeling guilty. “Oh…how about how I handled the paparazzi, huh? I shouldn't have come?” Leah teased. Jeremy let out a small laugh. “Well, yeah. You were amazing. Thank you, Leah. Thank you for everything,” Jeremy said sincerely. “Wow. Who are you, and what have you done with Jeremy Harper?” Leah said jokingly. “There are many sides to a man, you know?” Jeremy said, smiling. “I agree. I can help you…against Big Margaret,” Leah said, sounding very serious now. Jeremy looked up at her and wheeled his chair closer. “How?” He asked. Leah quickly sat on her bed and ran her fingers through her hair. “I don't know, yet. But I can help you against those people. Let me help you,” Leah sounded persuasive. Jeremy had expected something solid. How could she help him when she didn't even know how to? He wheeled his chair backwards, making way to leave. Leah stopped him by covering his hand with her hands. Her touch was electric. Jeremy could feel his pulse quicken. “Let me,” she said softly, looking him in the eye. “Like…my wingman?” Jeremy said, closing his eyes, breathing heavily. “What are you doing, Leah?” He asked vulnerably, like his defenses had been pulled down. He pulled her close to him, looking at her seductively. She didn't resist him. “Helping you,” she muttered. The moment was magnetic and they soon got locked in a kiss. A very passionate kiss. Their tongues collided…their noses. Leah took one of Jeremy's hands, and placed it on her ass. He grabbed it. He kissed her down to her neck and her gown slipped off one shoulder. Her breasts were standing firm, pointing at him. He grabbed her n****e with his mouth and fondled it with his tongue. Leah let out a soft moan, wrapping her hands around his head. Her phone rang the first time but they were too distracted to notice. It rang again and Jeremy spoke out of his breath, notifying her. She looked at the screen and saw it was Noah. She turned the phone off and whispered into Jeremy's ears, “take me “ “What?” Jeremy asked, looking confused. Just then, Leah snapped out of her wild imagination. “I meant, take me along….in your plans,” she said, stuttering.
