The Warm-Up

As DJ left to do, as he put it, “what he had to do,” Don and Archie watched the younger Identities in the café warming up for their kilted entrance, some with stretches and yoga poses, others lunging or arabesque-ing their leg into the air. One round feller even attempted a headstand, landing in a half-moon pose with a laugh instead.
Focus, ESP-ed the Identity from the gents and then, remembering the voice, blushed.
Don and Archie had seen it all before. As they were older, less was expected of them. Acrobatics and leg-lifting was for the young; older Identities such as Don and Archie didn’t even have to dance. Their role was more a cheer
