I gulped when the Alpha dragged me inside, his brows creased with worry. “Are you okay?” he asked as he traced my body with his eyes. I stood there silently, confused by his reaction. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Ryder had defended me in front of his chosen mate. Why? Why was he hell-bent on confusing me?!
Angered, I raised my hands, only for Ryder to pin them against the wall, “Answer me! Are you okay?” his voice was laced with pain as he stared at me, and when he saw the red tint on my cheeks, his eyes flashed coldly. He traced it with his fingertips, making me wince. “You're not okay.” he concluded as he walked away, leaving me to fight with my thoughts.
