Nova sat in her chair, eyes bright with tears, as she fled from yet another station begging her for help. She closed her ears to their pleas as she ordered the Freedom into jump space.
She’d been hopeful when she arrived and found seven corvettes attacking the station, all of them Imperial in origin. The lack of communications from the corvettes, together with their obvious attempts to capture the station rather than destroy it, meant she was almost certainly dealing with Tainted ships.
That was fine. In fact it was better than dealing with Imperials who might focus on destroying the station while Nova tried to engage them. Now she could just focus on defeating the corvettes as quickly as possible.
