Chapter 55
With the last dangerous wreckage from the Sabre destroyed Nova allowed herself to relax. She could hardly believe she was still alive, and that the Freedom remained intact and under her control. She let herself have a good stretch before returning her attention to the displays.
Her tension returned threefold when she did. Without the remains of the Sabre to focus on she suddenly realised the Freedom was surrounded by warships she didn’t know and couldn’t begin to fully trust.
Most were corvettes, but taken together with the Spindrift and the Wanderer she knew they could quickly overwhelm the Freedom. She could take a few corvettes with her but that was little consolation.
