Chapter Fourteen
“I know what we can do today.” Krista’s eyes were bright as they washed the breakfast dishes. JT wished to be graced with her sweet expression every single day of his life.
“What’s that?” He set down the frying pan and wrapped his arms around her.
“Let’s go into town and get a few things to celebrate your birthday. You said they don’t practice the custom on Anthera. I'd be honored to give you your first birthday party. It’ll be small, just the two of us, but festive nonetheless.”
JT sighed, resting his head atop hers as he stared across the room. “Krista, you’ve gone to too much trouble where I’m concerned. I’ve read how precious money is here on Earth. I don't want to deplete your funds.”
