Amara POV
Ashley and I both run with the guard and usher, women and children back since the pack house. Suddenly a guard moves the couch in the common room and opens a hatch, all the people gathering in the pack house drop one by one. When they’re all in the bunker, when Ashley and I attempt to get in and we hear a child crying. Ashley bolts out the back door before I can see what’s going on, following I see her running to a child on the edge of the forest
They must have gotten separated from their parents, I keep an eye out on the surroundings ready to shift if something goes after her. When she bends to get the child she falls to the ground, unmoving, what the hell. The guard follows me to Ashley and I shove the child into his arms demanding he take her to the bunker.
