Stiles awakened at 5 o' clock the next morning feeling as his head was hit against something heavy. He couldn't remember falling asleep. He placed his hands on the either side of his head and pressed them as hard as he could. Sitting on the bed, he took several deep breaths and slowly rose to his feet. Stiles saw a pigeon sitting outside on the branch of the tree. The bird was holding a small twig in its beak. He forgot about the throbbing pain in his head for a moment. He was glad to be awake at the right time to witness the sun rising, illuminating the sky.
He had a full day scheduled, but all he wanted to do was to go back to bed. At least no one could bother him there. Thinking about going back to sleep led his mind wandered back to the nightmares he has been having.
