The Nightmare

Sara found herself in the middle of an immeasurably large room, and with 40 to 50 large hostile men. At first, she didn't register the fact that it was a dream, and she was terrified. But they didn't seem to be looking at her, which was a bit of a relief. However, a nagging sense of insecurity made her hide in a corner of the room. She watched them closely. Amongst the men, the tallest was the man who fought Ninja 9999 in his office- Lord Dark-Hunter the Senior. He seemed to be enraged about something. "THOSE IMBECILES!" he thundered, shaking every wall of the room, "GAVE THEM A SIMPLE TASK, AND UNSUCCESSFUL THEY WERE! GOT THEMSELVES KILLED BY AN AMATEUR AND THE GIRL ESCAPED ALIVE!" The rest of the men looked at him in fear and admiration, but mostly, the former. She saw that one of the men opened his mouth to say something, but closed it back, apparently not trusting himself to speak. Then, Lord Dark-Hunter suddenly laughed. He laughed with intense satisfaction for 2 minutes. Then he addressed his g**g. "At least, we have the source," he said, still chuckling. "and those little kids don't know who they are dealing with. Even the 10-year-old-" "Fourteen." someone corrected. The lord whirled around at him. "How did you know?" he asked, his voice dangerously quiet. The man remained silent. "SPEAK UP!" the lord yelled. The spy told me, my lord," he said at last. "Indeed," he muttered. "and yet when I told him to give the full detailed account of the girl, he failed to tell me THAT?! DURADEL!" The man closest to the lord responded. "EXPLAIN!" "M-my lord," his voice quivered in terror, "I didn't think it was important compared to-" "IT IS BECAUSE OF YOU WE LOST OUR MEN!" he reprimanded, "AGE IS A PART OF EXPERIENCE AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEN AND FOURTEEN IS GREAT. NATURALLY, THE ASSUMPTION MADE ME UNDERESTIMATE THE GIRL," Sara felt slightly proud that she managed to do something, however little, to make them vulnerable.  The lord took a deep breath, then turned back to the man, "and if it weren't for the war next week, then you would've been dead. Make yourself useful." "Y- y-yes my lord." the man named Duradel trembled. He looked retarded compared to the others, which was a pretty good build for spying. "Besides, they will never find the source. If anything, they will surely meet their end in the last level, much less get out." He started laughing again, and this time, the whole g**g joined in. Sara woke up with a start and broke into a cold sweat. The source. A spy. War next week. And she hadn't been trained. ******** She woke up at 5 am the next morning. She didn't feel hungry after the frightful dream she had last night. She just put on her school dress, her badge was on throughout the night and was about to pack her bag when a soft voice called out, "Sara dear? You are up early." Sara smiled. "Ah, yes. Just a morning walk." "Aren't you hungry?" Sara shook her head. "I see. Well then, I deduce you are going directly to school after your walk since you are wearing your uniform, though I still must say it's too early. I'll just pack your tiffin and see you off." Sara smiled again. A reason she loved her mother was she hardly interfered in her activities and had enough trust in her. Soon her mother did as she told and saw her off. The next moment, she found her walking towards the academy. She passed the warehouse, but this time, she didn't stop there to admire it. She tried to run away from there as fast as she could. At one point she resumed walking till she reached. Before scanning it, she turned her badge and transformed and went ahead. This time, she reached 30 minutes earlier than the anticipated time. Inside was the same hustle and bustle as there had been the previous day. She went to Ninja 9999's office instinctively. She had to tell him about the dream, no matter how ridiculous it may sound. She went up all the way to the last floor and knocked on his door. Ninja 9999 opened it. Sara saw his wound looked much better than yesterday. Ninja 9999 quietly beckoned her to her seat. "You have something to tell me?" he asked. "Yes, sir." "If it is about your yesterday's encounter with those two men, let me tell you that Ninja 2369 has recounted the incident." "That's not what I wanted to say," Sara said, trying to hasten the proceedings, "yesterday night, I had a vision, which may help us prior to the war." Ninja 9999 raised an eyebrow, "I see. Go ahead." In minimum words, Sara tried to explain it without eliminating the important details. When she was done, Ninja 9999 frowned. "War? In a week? What are they thinking?" he muttered to himself. Then he looked around as if searching for something. He looked out of the window, then squinted his eyes, and his frown deepened. Suddenly, a bullet fired at Ninja 9999 through the window but he ducked under the office table. However, it missed Sara by an inch. Then Ninja 9999 unsheathed his sword and he tore out of the office, Sara closely at his heels.
