Aunt Hilda knew at this point, she had to come clean, she had to tell Evelyn everything. She figured it was her last chance to help Cameron, for all the pain her sister cost him. Telling Evelyn about his past may be the only way to let them all heal. Cameron couldn't do it himself, she wanted to ease him of the burden, and she knew it killed him.
She also knew there was something special going on between Cameron and Evelyn, she wanted to save it. This could be Cameron's one chance to live his life, she was determined to help him.
