993 Words
"Excuse me Mr. Davis, can I see you please?" I said as I rushed over to him. He stopped to look at me, a confused expression on his face. He probably was wondering who I was and I decided to help him out. "My name is Tracy Miller. I'm from BlueSky Corporations," I said. Immediately he heard that I was from BlueSky Corporations, he started walking away but I was persistent. I kept following him, pleading with him to reconsider signing the contract with our company instead of with our rivals. I even told him that we have added some new benefits to our initial agreement. But he ignored me and kept walking into the building and yet I followed him. Some of the security guards tried to drag me away but I managed to fight them off and kept following Mr. Davis, while still trying to explain to him the reason why he should come back to our company to sign the agreement contract. When I saw that he wasn't paying any attention to me, I stopped following him and watched as he approached the elevator. I felt my anger rising to the brim and there was no way to control it. Before I could stop it, there was an outburst. "What kind of a man are you?" I yelled, drawing the attention of everyone that were in the reception area. But still, Mr. Davis did not stop walking towards elevator. Neither did my mouth stop talking. I was so angry that I wanted to let everything out of my chest. "You came to our company to assure us that you were going to sign that contract with us and then you go behind our backs and sign with our rivals. What kind of a businessman does that? How could you do this kind of thing to a small business looking up to you because of your company's success? You are just a selfish, heartless businessman looking for what would only benefit him. You do not care about other people. All you care about is yourself, your company and what you aim to achieve. You don't want to give small businesses the chance to grow because you're scared they would take over from you," I said. Suddenly, Mr Davis stopped walking. He turned to look at me but I could not tell what he was thinking because there was no exact expression on his face. It was just blank and expressionless. Then before I knew it, he began to walk towards me. "Uh-oh, I had just managed to bring the lion out of its cage," I thought. Mr Davis walked towards me and did not stop walking until he was standing a few inches away from me. With the same expressionless look on his face, he said, "Follow me. "Then he turned back around and walked back towards the elevator. I could feel my heart beating really fast in my chest as many thoughts ran through my head at the same time. What if he hits me because I have just succeeded in embarrassing him in front of his employees? What if it takes me to his office and then calls the cops to come and arrest me? Before I could think of the best thing to do, my feet seemed to have a mind of their own as they followed after Mr. Davis. I got into the elevator with him and watched as the doors closed in front of us. As the elevator went up, the both of us to decide by side in absolute silence. The only noise that could be heard was the noise of the elevator as it went up. In no time, the elevator stopped moving and doors opened. Mr Davis stepped out of the elevator and continued walking and I just followed in silence until he opened a door and walked in. There was a lady sitting at the desk, working on a computer. Immediately she noticed him walk into the room, she got up and greeted him. He replied with a grunt and kept walking. He opened another door in that office and walked in. I walked in with him and was amazed by how beautiful the room was. There was an executive chair and a mahogany desk. A huge shelf stood at one corner of the office filled with files and documents. The office looked neat and expensive. I was too busy admiring the office space that I did not realize that Mr. Davis had stopped and was now looking at me. It wasn't until he snapped his fingers in front of me before I came back to my senses. "Are you here to discuss something with me or did you come to admire my office?" He asked with a deep, chill voice that practically sent chills down my spine. "Uhh... I'm...I'm sorry. I got carried away by how nice your office looks," I confessed. "What did you say your name was again?" He asked. "My...my is name Tracy Miller," I replied, feeling my heart beat very fast in my chest. "Well, I must say, that is one way to talk to someone whom you're coming to beg for an opportunity to work with," he said. "I....I'm s..." I tried to say. "You know I've never had someone talk to me that way, especially not a woman. Every woman I have met fawns over me. They speak nicely to me, and not how rudely you did out there. I mean, you talked down at me in front of my employees in my own company. That is very bold of you," He said. "I....I'm really sorry, Mr. Davis. I don't know what came over me," I said. "Oh no, it's fine. Surprisingly, I am impressed by your reaction and I have thought about giving your company a chance," he said. I look at him, unable to believe my ears. "But on one condition," he added.
