ALEXANDER’S POV The movie ended with the credits rolling, but I was barely paying attention. My eyes kept drifting to Nia, curled up at the other end of the couch, her features softer now. Lighter. That haunted look she always carried was still there, but it wasn’t as heavy. “I’m gonna take a shower,” she said after a while, stretching a little. “Wash the morning off.” “Take your time,” I told her. Once she disappeared down the hallway, I stood and double-checked everything that had arrived while she was resting earlier. My personal shopper and stylist had been in and out, quietly setting up the racks in the guest room across from hers. Clothes in her sizes, neutral and pastel palettes, designer shoes still in boxes, accessories organized like a boutique setup. It was a lot….but af
