NIA’S POV The days blurred together. Time didn’t feel real in this room. The small window was too high to see out of, and the only sound I heard during the day was the faint hum of traffic far in the distance, proof the world still moved on without me. I missed Alexander so badly it physically hurt. His smile, the way he held me when I had nightmares, the way his lips would brush against my forehead when he thought I was asleep. I missed Snow’s soft barks at the door every morning. I missed Alexandra’s loud laughter, her teasing, her warmth. Now all I had was silence. Caleb was gone during the day.
