They had led Cain away hours ago. Where was he? She needed him. There was something about him that was more man than beast. Unlike the others, he looked like he still had at least a small part of his soul intact. And if she was right, he was the only one that could help her to survive, and escape.
When she had woken up and saw him watching her, fear had torn through her body. Then, she had really looked at him. He had been sitting on the floor with his hands in his lap, and his eyes looked soft. She had started to relax a little, then the bathroom door had opened with a metal on metal shriek. And her heart had jumped into her throat again.
