I really didn't expect Grandpa to come to my apartment, and it just so happened that Angela was here. As usual, her silliness turned into jokes and made Grandpa laugh heartily. This was the first hearty laugh I had seen from Grandpa since Grandma passed away. Alvian and I exchanged smiles. Alvian also immediately gave me two thumbs up, which I was sure meant he approved of my choice.
"Where did you meet such a funny girl?" Grandpa asked with a smile. His face looked happy, which relieved me more than anything. Even though Grandpa can be fussy and sometimes annoying, he's the only parental figure I have in this world, so his happiness is also my priority.
