Rick's POV
The world seemed to collapse in front of me when I saw Angela covered in blood. I shouldn’t have let her go get ice cream alone. Perhaps if I had accompanied her, even if it meant taking a detour, she would have been fine. On the way to the hospital, while holding her tightly, my mind was overwhelmed with fear and guilt. I didn't want to lose my sweet and delightful Angela. I didn't want to lose the source of my happiness. My beautiful and kind-hearted wife, whom I realized I loved so much.
When the examination room door closed, I collapsed weakly onto the cold hospital floor. For the first time in my life, my tears fell because of a woman. It felt like the whole world had stopped; my chest pounded heavily until it hurt, my breath was short, and my tears wouldn't stop flowing.
