I walked up the few steps to the front door with Johnathan close behind me and knocked a couple of times. It felt appropriate since this was no longer my home, and I did not want any further trouble from Debbie. She, of course, was the one to answer the door. “What the h.ell do you want?” She sneered, looking at me.
“They are here to collect Maddie’s items. It has already been approved by both the Alpha and me.” I heard Mr. Harris from behind her. He did not sound happy, and from the look on her face, they had most likely been fighting.
“Fine, but watch yourself. I will be making sure you do not take anything you are not entitled to.” Debbie’s condescending tone was something I was used to by now.
