Lance barely looked up from his grilled cheese sandwich when his mother walked into his cabin. She carried something in her hands, but he knew why she was there. After all, she’d called and had been lecturing him for the full fifteen minutes it took her to walk from the volunteer house to his cabin. “I can’t believe you,” she said. “You said that already,” he deadpanned.
