“Well, I can now. He must be leaving a trail back to Hyakuhei,” Toya responded as if annoyed. He silently wondered why the boy would kidnap Kyoko and not hand her over to Hyakuhei. He hadn’t even tried to hurt her. He gave Kyoko a glance then quickly adverted his gaze, wondering at the deception.
“But why would Amni do that?” Suki asked as she came to stand between Kyoko and Shinbe.
Getting the odd feeling that Suki stood between them on purpose, Kyoko shrugged, “Well, he did seem to be helping us.” she bit her bottom lip, wondering about the boy called Amni. She didn’t remember ever feeling like she was in actual danger from him. It made her wonder if the boy was really their enemy at all.
“Amni wouldn’t help anyone,” Toya responded angrily. He wished Kyoko would quit trusting everyone
