Chapter 2

I didn't notice an expensive car arriving at the school premises while I was unmindfully crossing the pedestrian. I bowed multiple times to apologize. I stepped back at the sidewalk and bowed again. Gosh! But the Ferrari stopped and parked at the side, I was suddenly scared. This is just my first day, and I already caused a lot of trouble? I just wanna hit myself. And I don't want to tell this to my jiejie. The passenger's side opened, and a guy came out. "You okay, miss?" he asked in panic. I checked on my side if he was really asking me or somebody else. Girls then suddenly screamed so hard upon seeing the guy. A famous guy? I was so confused again. I was staring at his almost manly face and then back at the squealing girls and then to him again. "Red!" the girls screamed. "Oh, god! You are god," the number of girls fluctuates after that cry. On the other hand, this guy waved his hand and even winked at the girls on my back and they squeeled even more. Some even acted like they were about to faint. Holy mother earth! Why am I even here? I was lowkey, regretting being distracted. "Miss, are you okay?" the guy, whom I assumed named Red, asked me again. He sounded foreign to me. His accent. the slang. "Yes, sir. I apologize. I was a bit inattentive," he showed his bright smile, which I appreciated, and he tapped my shoulders after. "Na. We didn't see you crossing too," the guy informed me. That I confirmed, he grew up somewhere else. That was an Aussie accent. "Freshman?" he asked as I nodded. "Welcome to Prestige! Good luck on your first day!" I bowed again to show gratitude as he returned to the car waiting for him which also honked. The Ferrari went fast when the gentleman entered. The girls were still dreamy because of what the guy did to them a while ago. After that, I felt them glaring at me. So, I also walked to the Prestige Hall for the orientation program as fast as possible before something terrible happened again. The hall was also vast. It looks expensive and airconditioned. I see entering students wearing high-end things, showing that they were all from wealthy families. The program was made to find friends from different courses, which I don't think I might do well. Watching their stern faces made me back away. Making me question my existence in the hall. High-heads. Eerie. "Zoe!" I heard my name from behind. I turned my back and saw my classmate in high school. "Bianca?" she ran towards me in glee. "You are panting," I commented when I saw her catching her breath. "Yah! I have been running after you since that gate incident. Hello!" Bianca took my hand and pulled me inside the hall finally. Thank goodness, I have someone I know now. Gate incident? "What incident?" I asked her uncomprehendingly as we took our seats. "When the famous, handsome, and stunning Jared Kelion Sim AKA Red talked to you. Gosh! You are so lucky on your first day," like the other girls a while ago, she looked like being tickled. "So, he is famous?" I gave her a curious look. Bianca gave me that i-can't-believe-you look. "Gosh, Zoe! You are our class Salutatorian, and you didn't review about the school?" my mouth agape. Seriously? "How did being a salutatorian connected to knowing that? The history of the school, the reviews, courses, achievements, presidents, I know but not who is famous among the students in the school," I scoffed at her. Bianca sighed in defeat. "As always. The nerd!" I laughed. I am not offended when I am called the nerd, the geek, the weird, or whatever they want to call me. My high school classmates still love me, and I love them too. "By the way, Red is actually a famous guy. He represents the school in soccer. A varsity player. He is one talented student. He is also a promising intelligent future engineer. You were so lucky he talked to you," if we were outside, this girl might have pulled me, hit me, and screamed so much because of the guy. When the orientation program started, I attentively listened. Bianca was still talking a lot, but I didn't mind. Until my eyes roamed around and saw a familiar back. No, I might be mistaken. He attended Kingston. I know he attended Kingston, it was what I clearly remember him telling everyone. But how sure am I? Maybe he changed path along the way. But if I knew... If I only knew about it...
