Floating. That was what came to Chloe’s foggy brain as she struggled to wake up. It took her a second to realize she was being carried in someone’s arms. Cradled against a firm chest. She drew a breath into her lungs and took in the person's fragrance. Jaxson. She could recognize his smell anywhere, even fresh out of sleep. His chest vibrated against her cheek as though he were talking, but she couldn’t hear anything. Her sense of hearing wasn’t awake yet. After a minute, Chloe realized Jaxson had stopped walking and was gently lowering her onto what she guessed was a bed, judging by the softness that met her body. She didn’t want to be put down.
