1255 Words
Sophie, feeling a surge of anger, hailed a taxi to head home. Her frustration was observable as she sat in the backseat, hissing and scoffing to herself. The driver couldn't help but notice her agitated state and glanced at her through the rearview mirror, curious about what might have happened. Sensing her reluctance to speak, he decided to remain silent and continued driving. After a seemingly endless thirty-minute ride, Sophie finally arrived home. Eager to unload her burdens, she kicked off her shoes at the doorway and slipped into comfortable flip-flops before making her way into the living room. As she entered, she noticed her mom deeply engrossed in weaving baby clothes, oblivious to her daughter's arrival. "Mom, I'm back," Sophie announced, flopping down on the sofa with a heavy sigh. She had been hopeful about securing the job she interviewed for, only to have the CEO bring up the topic of marriage. The memory of that moment filled her with frustration, and she couldn't help but emit a loud hiss from time to time. Observing the expression on her daughter's face, Sophie's mom concluded that the interview had not gone well. Sophie nodded in agreement, confirming her mother's assumption. "The CEO was spouting gibberish, so I had no choice but to leave," Sophie explained, her voice tinged with disappointment. Just as she finished speaking, her phone began to ring. Rummaging through her handbag, she retrieved her phone and glanced at the caller's ID before answering. Her angry countenance suddenly transformed into a wide smile, erasing any trace of frustration. "Hello, bestie!" a voice boomed from the other end of the line, causing Sophie to momentarily pull the phone away from her ear due to the loudness of her friend's greeting. "I guess the interview didn't go well," Nia deduced, having sensed Sophie's disappointment. Sophie's smile widened at her friend's perceptiveness. "It's amazing how you know me so well, while I still have so much to learn about you," Sophie playfully pouted, evoking laughter from Nia. "I've studied you like a course, babe. So, what went wrong during the interview?" Nia inquired, allowing Sophie to recount her encounter with the CEO of the company she had applied to. As Sophie settled comfortably on the sofa, she began to narrate the disheartening encounter she had with the CEO. She described the CEO's sudden offer, emphasizing how it had prompted her to abruptly leave the interview. Nia listened attentively, making sure she understood all that her friend had just explained to her "Wow, so you met the CEO of Global Technical Costco?" Nia exclaimed, her curiosity piqued. Sophie nodded. "Oh my gosh! I am dying to see him! How does he look in person? Is he very handsome?" Nia bombarded Sophie with a flurry of questions, clearly fascinated by the billionaire CEO. Sophie sighed, realizing her best friend's obsession with him. But for Sophie, he held no interest whatsoever. He simply wasn't her type. "Hey, one question at a time! He's not handsome to me. He looks like any normal guy," Sophie replied, causing Nia to hiss in disagreement. Sophie couldn't help but laugh. "That dude is freaking cute. Oh, I forgot, you don't have eyes! No wonder you dated ugly guys in high school and college," Nia teased, earning another laugh from Sophie. "Well, for me, Bryan is the most handsome guy on Earth. I'd die for him," Nia said dreamily, and Sophie smiled at her friend's infatuation. "Thanks, Nia. You made my day," Sophie replied gratefully. "Anything for my bestie. So, how about we go to the club to forget about our sorrows? You're not lucky in finding jobs, and I'm not lucky in finding men. Let's drown away our sorrows," Nia suggested. Sophie nodded in agreement. "I'm in. Let's go at 8 pm," they both agreed simultaneously, bursting into laughter. They continued talking for a while before finally hanging up. Sophie stood up, making her way towards her room when her mom spoke up. "Don't tell me you're going to the club, Sophie," her mom said with a concerned tone. Sophie scoffed, already anticipating her mother's disapproval. "This is the only way to forget about my sorrows," Sophie replied defiantly. "But you're not tolerant of alcohol," her mom reminded her, the worry evident in her eyes. Sophie smiled, trying to reassure her. "I won't drink much, I promise." "Do you remember what happened last time you got drunk? You kicked the bartender in the groin for trying to stop you from drinking," her mom recalled, causing Sophie's cheeks to turn red in embarrassment. "Argh! Stop reminding me, Mom. I won't drink much, I promise," She pleaded, hoping to ease her mother's concerns. Her mom sighed, still unconvinced. "Just be careful, Sophie. Remember, alcohol can cloud your judgment and lead to trouble." Sophie nodded, understanding her mother's worries. "I'll be responsible, Mom. I won't let things get out of hand." With that assurance, Sophie retreated to her room to get ready for the night ahead. She chose an outfit that made her feel confident and comfortable, ready to dance away her worries with her best friend. As the clock struck 8 pm, Sophie and Nia met outside, excited for the night ahead. They hailed a taxi and headed towards the vibrant club scene, their laughter and anticipation filling the air. The clubhouse was alive with the vigorous energy of a lively crowd. People gathered around, engaging in spirited conversations, some finding solace on the dance floor, while others embraced the passionate atmosphere, indulging in heated embraces. The unmistakable scent of alcohol lingered in the air, adding to the sense of excitement. The two best friends, Sophie and Nia, stepped into the club. They were a striking duo, captivating the attention of everyone in the room. Sophie, adorned in a mesmerizing black backless dress that accentuated her curves, wore black heels and carried a white purse. Her hair was elegantly tied up in a high ponytail, thanks to Nia's skillful touch. Nia, on the other hand, flaunted her unique sense of fashion. She sported a mini skirt that daringly stopped just above her waist, paired with black boots and a white crop top. Her hair was dyed a shade of pink, adding a touch of allure to her appearance, making her resemble a fairy brought to life. As the two friends made their entrance, heads turned and gazes lingered, captivated by their presence. The men in the clubhouse found themselves unable to divert their eyes, drawn to the allure of Sophie and Nia. GLOBAL TECHNICAL COSTCO Bryan sat alone in his office, surrounded by a sea of files. The company had emptied for the day, leaving him to his thoughts and the solitude of his bodyguards. Leaning back on his chair, he took in a deep breath, massaging his temples. Feeling the weight of exhaustion in his bones, Bryan finally decided to call it a day. He rose from his seat, collecting his suit and suitcase, preparing to leave. "Take me to Midnight Club," he requested, his bodyguards nodding in understanding. They both exited the office and together with his bodyguards, they left the company, heading to the club. On arriving at the club, Bryan headed to the counter where he met the bartender, Jericho. Having ordered his usual, he settled down and began sipping his drink. Meanwhile, Sophie, who was already tired from her graceful dance, sauntered to the counter where she met Bryan. Gently, she sat beside him, flashing a warm smile at him.
