CHAPTER 3

Rayle's POV "I'm really sorry about those guys. They always act like that in front of a girl that captures their attention," said Shane, who is my friend on the internet. She's also a fan of ASTERI. And it was luck I guess that we met here. I knew that she lived here in San Felipe, but I didn't know that her house was just two blocks away from the gym. "Nah, it's okay. I'm just glad that I met you here and that you came at the right time." Actually, I wasn't sure if I would go to Elise's house as I'm not really a guest there like ASTERI. Neither do I work in their agency, so, you could say I'm stuck between going and not. I looked at the messages from Valentina and the others, and I felt a lump in my throat. I don't really want to break my word, but..., what am I supposed to do? I should've gone with them immediately so this shouldn't have happened. No, nothing will change if I continue to blame myself. "Are you going to Elise's house? The whole ASTERI is there, isn't it?" Shane She looked at me worriedly, as if knowing that I was somehow uncomfortable. Looking through our surroundings, I realized that we were now a little bit far away from the gym. There were little children playing tag of war, and most of the adults were chatting with the others. Combing through my hair, I can't help but sigh. "Yeah, well...I'm not really sure anymore. I told them that I'd go, but because I was left behind...especially, I'm not really a guest or anything. ughh... " me Chuckling, she comforted me and said that she too would feel the same if she was in my place. In the end, we decided that I'll go and she will accompany me. We continued to talk on our way back and that somehow lifted the heavy weight my shoulders. "Hhahah, yeah. I thought so too."me "And did you also watch the v-"shane I was stopped in my tracks when I heard someone call my name in the distance. "Rayle!" Trying to figure out who it was, I then immediately recognized Valentina, who was now running on my way. She doesn't look good. Did something happen? "Valentina. Why? What happened?" I asked her when she stopped in front of us panting heavily. "Where were you? Everybody's been looking for you since earlier!" she said angrily. This is the first time I saw Valentina express this much emotion. She's usually composed and only speaks when necessary. No. That doesn't matter now. I think I've just made a huge mistake. "Well, me and Shane, the one I talked to you about roamed around. We were actually planning on going back already..." Feeling guilty, I couldn't help but flinch towards the angry looks and discontented faces of the ASTERI members who are all now looking at me including Mikki. "I-I'm sorry. Did I make you guys...worried? But I messaged at the gc. Haven't you seen it?' Sighing, they only shook their heads in return. Feeling the heavy atmosphere, I couldn't talk anymore. Oh f**k. I'm totally screwed. My eyes widened when I realized that Shane was still beside me. I immediately composed myself and introduced her to everyone. They got along well, and we bid our goodbyes to each other with Shane taking a picture with the group. "Take care! It was nice meeting you today!" "You too. Let's continue to talk in the gc, then." I replied, smiling while hugging each other, Our meeting ended just like that and it had already gotten dark on our way. Of course, I received an earful from ASTERI and I understand where they're coming from anyway. I should've thoroughly checked if my message was sent successfully so they wouldn't have ended up worrying about where I was. Also, did I forget to tell you that Mikki is currently beside me and is looking as dashing as always? It was a pity that I couldn't see him properly back on the stage because it was too crowded and the distance. "Guys, manager Steven said it's time to leave." Charli said in the distance. I looked above to see the skies half orange and blue. A sign that the moon is on its way to remind everyone that it's already his time to shine. "Moon..." I unconsciously said out of nowhere. "What did you say?" said a familiar voice who I was surprised to hear from. Looking at him strangely with one of my eyebrows lifted unconsciously, he shook his head with what I think was because of my reaction. "What the heck is that look for?" Mikki asked annoyed Oh. He sure snapped. Does this boy have a girls' day too? No, forget I said that. I didn't really say anything. Hey, you didn't hear what I said, right? Clearing my throat, I replied, "It...doesn't mean anything." I avoided looking at his eyes and continued walking. I saw the others putting their bags already in the back of their car, while my head turned when I heard Mikki say something. "Yep, go on. Lie some more." I couldn't help but roll my eyes at what he said and I didn't say anything also because he hit the bullseye after all. "Are you going to ride with us on the way back?" asked Mikki more seriously now. I couldn't help but clear my throat when we locked eyes. He stepped forward near beside me now. Yes. This feeling again. The feeling of being strangely uncomfortable with him. It's like I am on high alert when I'm near him. My heart...feels like its gonna' burst. Oh, this little piece of s**t of mine. "I-I won't. Well, of course, I can't just leave my car here. Anyways, I'm already used to driving alone like this anyway. It's not that big of a deal." I felt a tug on the hem of my shirt which stopped me from walking any further. "Used to?..." Oh crap. That slipped. How am I supposed to say that I drive alone when I'm on a mission? And not just an ordinary mission at that? "Oh, hhaha, that? Of course, I'm used to driving around Valeria City alone, of course.Like going to your concerts, or when grabbing some groceries." I said, hoping that he wouldn't notice me lying this time and it'd slip. He was about to say something when Charlotte and the others called our names, saying that it was time to leave already. As if realizing that he was still holding onto my shirt, he immediately let go of it. We both picked up our pace and I stopped by my jeep. I picked up the keys inside the right pocket of my jeans, and was surprised to see that Mikki was standing beside me. "Is something wrong? The others are calling you now."me Did he left something? No, that's really impossible, because I don't have anything that belongs to him. "Tsk...leave your phone on." My eyes widened because of what I had just heard. Am I dreaming? The Great Mikki asked me to...No, I've gone mad. He just told me to put my phone on. That's all. Don't think too much about it. Don't think too much about it/ Nodding, he then left while I got inside my car. When I shut the door, I felt my blood go up to my cheeks which I've been holding back since earlier. " derstand me,
