Hailey's Perspective
As Mellie and I walked into the lobby of the state government building, I looked around for the governor's office.
A woman quickly approached us, offering assistance.
"Ma'am, can I help you with something?"
Just as I expected from Governor Anders' administration, the staff here were much friendlier than in other places.
"I'd like to see Governor Anders to discuss some issues."
The woman smiled warmly. "Of course. Please follow me."
As I was about to follow her, Mellie suddenly grabbed my hand.
"Mommy, I don't like this lady."
I brushed off her comment, thinking it was just a child's pointless instinct.
"But we need her help," I tried to reassure her.
After all, the building was huge, and we could easily get lost without guidance.
