Hey my lovely readers. Here's a new chapter. Let me know what you think. Have a great day ahead and God bless you guys. Remember to stay safe always.❤️❤️❤️ ################################ Third Person's POV "You know why I'm here." Kyle almost growled out, unable to contain himself. When the young prince kept his silence, the human knew everything Lilian had said was true. He could almost feel his insides recoil in horror. "H..how could y..you Tim?" Kyle's words were so soft that it almost got carried away by the wind. His eyes pleaded for a reasonable explanation, his heart wanted Tim to deny everything and say he didn't do anything to Lilian and India. But the young prince's next words were void of any emotion. They were ice cold. "I saw no other way human." He said with a steel look on his young face. "Wh...what? What d..did you say?" Kyle whispered harshly. He felt all the air leave his lungs. Even his head was beginning to hurt. Everything was aching. He simply couldn't comprehend how the nicest pure blood could be capable of something like this. "I did what I had to do. I saw no other way." Prince Timothy's words were as sharp as a sword. His voice held no regrets and that bothered Kyle to no end. "Y..you did what you had to do? You did what you had to do?!" Kyle began to yell. "You're telling me you had to lie to my face?! You're telling me that Lilian had to go through a traumatic phase?! That she had to believe she was going out of her f*****g mind?! She had to believe that she would either be sent to an institution or be put to death?! You hurt them Tim! You hurt the people I love and you hurt me! India could've died! Lilian could've died! All because you did what you had to do?!! That's what you're telling me?!!" Kyle's voice boomed throughout the hallways. He was yelling at the top of his lungs while his eyes burned with tears that were threatening to fall down his face. "Y..yes." Prince Timothy's voice was small. The softest Kyle had ever heard. It was also the first time Kyle heard him stutter. Sadly, none of it mattered that night. The hurt was too deep. It shattered Kyle and the prince knew it. "Y..you." Kyle pointed at Prince Timothy. "You..you were the only reason I learnt not to hate vampires. You're the only reason I give blood suckers a chance. I stood up for you. I've always supported you. I lifted up your name to Lilian." The human murmured. He seemed to have no strength to shout anymore. The forlorn look in his eyes spoke volumes. The prince saw how his friend's chest would rise and fall. Kyle's breathing was as heavy as his words. "How could you do this to me? How could you treat an innocent woman like that?" Kyle looked at his friend with a confused expression. He still couldn't understand why. The prince remained silent. He looked like a statue staring back at his friend. The only hint of emotion displayed was in his eyes. It had a whisper of unhappiness which peeked over his baby blues. "Answer me Tim!!!" Kyle shouted, letting go of his anger and frustrating. Memories of what Lilian had to endure rushed into his mind. The only other memory which replaced those were the pictures of a scared, fragile looking India. His beloved friend. The young prince abruptly took a step up. Not expecting the sudden change in his friend's tone. Some of the castle guards rushed towards them at the stairs but Prince Timothy sent them away immediately. He knew he had to face the consequences. He knew he had to come clean to his human. It was the least he could do after everything he put Kyle through. His human's red, tearful eyes only intensified whatever the prince was feeling at that moment. "You showed me loss. You showed me what it meant to lose someone. It hurt. So, I wanted you to feel the same I guess." Came a soft yet steady voice from the steps above Kyle. "You wanted to hurt me. That's it?" Kyle shuddered. He let out a shaky breath before looking at his shoes. Seconds later, his eyes slowly connected to the prince's once again. "Then you should have hurt me Tim. You should have hurt me." Kyle angrily pointed his forefinger out the glass windows. "Not them. They didn't deserve it. Lilian did not deserve it." "I know-" "No! You do not. You do not know what you've done because you acted based on your feelings. You do not understand what you did because you're a child. You blindly hurt them because you were angry with me." "I know." He repeated softly. They was a wall of silence between them. None of the servants or the guards used that particular stairs. Everything was a deadly gloom. After a few aching moments. Kyle let out a heavy breath. "I'm leaving Tim." He shook his head slightly, not wanting to burst out again. He expected the young prince to argue but once again, it didn't play out the way he expected it to. "I understand human." The prince curtly nodded. "Good. Because I don't know when I'll see you again. If you're going to punish me for leaving my job, then so be it." The prince stiffened at what his friend said. "You think I'd do that?" "I don't know what you're capable of anymore." The human whispered. "Then go." Came a sudden icy tone that surprised Kyle. Without saying anything further, Kyle turned away and walked out of the castle. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Back at India's House. "You're lucky he didn't hurt you Kyle. He could have." His friend argued. "Would you stop saying that?! He wouldn't dare." Alex gave Kyle a sharp look, not buying it. "What do we do now?" India whispered. Alex had made her a simple dinner which consisted of noodle soup. India's body was still painful so she couldn't move much. And she was still weak. "There's not much to do. Finish your dinner and pack some of your stuff. Then you're going to try to get some sleep because you're coming back with me. We're leaving before dawn. Both of you." Alex said with finality as he eyed Kyle too. "Where?!" Kyle and India said simultaneously. "To Silver Heights idiots. India you are not safe here. Timothy already warned you about Zenas. He's going to be watching you. You won't be able to do anything here without the king finding out about it. Kyle, you need some time off too. It won't be a problem for you since you took the week off anyway. I say we go back to Silver Heights and tell King Phoenix about whatever's happening here. Innocent people are losing their lives." Kyle and India looked at each other before turning back to Alex. "Can we do that?" India asked softly. Kyle couldn't believe she of all people would ask something like this. "India you were the one who wanted to help these people. Remember when you took Rexamus and barged into the king's office? We need that woman now okay." Kyle held her hand. "I know, I know. I want to help and we have to do something. Its just that, are we allowed to go? What if something bad happens?" "Hey, Zenas can't solve this. If we don't do anything, more people are going to die. Soon, Red Kingdom will become weak enough for a rebellion." Alex firmly stated. "You're right. Zenas can't end this alone. We need to get the news out." The witch agreed. "What about Lilian?" "She wanted time. Let her have it Kyle. Let her get back to her life for a while." The fae king looked at his brother. "But it's dangerous here." He said worriedly. "I know but we can't force her to do anything. She wants to be here." Kyle nodded in understanding but India knew worry would slowly eat him up. "Hey I can put a protective barrier spell around her if you want. It will only work if she's in harm's way." "You'd do that?" "Yeah dumbass. She should be back by now right?" "Uh huh." Kyle said with a small smile. Alex rolled his eyes the moment he realized the two were going to pay Lilian a visit and. And that was exactly what they did. Both of them followed India out, acting as her guardians in case she was too weak to perform the spell. "Guys this spell isn't heavy. It's quite simple and basic to tell you the truth. So don't worry so much okay." She looked behind her as they reached Lilian's house. India knocked in the door while Kyle and Alex hid outside the house, a few meters away from the front gate. The door slowly opened to reveal a confused looking Mr. Rhysand. "Can I help you young lady? You alright?" He asked observing India's sickly form. "I'm a friend of Lilian. My name is India-" "The witch! I know you. Come in, come in." The elderly man practically pulled her in. He remembered the name because she was the one who had saved his life the other day. "Lilian dear! You have a visitor." The young teacher walked out of the dining room and looked at India surprised. Nevertheless she gave her a warm hug. "Hey are you alright? You seem to have a fever I think." Lilian asked her. "Yeah I'm not well Lilian." "Where have you been?! We were wondering! Kyle looked for you everywhere." Not everywhere. The witch thought. "I know I know. I will explain everything soon but for now I'm here on urgent business." "What is it? If you're looking for him, he's in Silver Heights." "Yeeeaahh....." India drawled. "I'm going there too and we just want you to be safe." "I will, I promise." Lilian smiled grateful that her new friend cared so much. "Yeeeaah but I have to make sure." "Tell him I'm perfectly fine. You're the one who's not. Do you need any kind of medicine?" "Nope. Stop talking and hold still." Lilian was surprised when India's firm command and how her hand touched the crown of Lilian's head. A soft blue glow flowed from India's hand to Lilian's whole body. Lilian tried to back away but the witch kept her in place. India concentrated on the spell until her eyes and palms began to heat up. The young teacher had a tingling feeling all over but she was too stunned to do anything. It lasted for a few moments before India let go. "What was that?!" "A protection spell." India said weakly. She was already sweating and that made Lilian even more anxious. "India what the hell?" "For your protection sweet girl. Thank me some other day okay. Bye." With that India walked out of the house leaving a bewildered Lilian behind. As soon as she stepped foot outside the gate. Alex and Kyle held her as she almost fell. "That's it! No more voodoo s**t!" Alex whisper yelled. ~~~~~~ Once they all came to an agreement, they safely brought India home and had a good night's rest. All of them except the witch of course. She was afraid that her freedom was nothing more than a dream and so she was afraid to go to sleep. What if she woke up in her cell again? She could still hear the king's taunting. His mean remarks about her and how she should learn her place. Was she that lowly? Did she not deserve her own voice? "India." She snapped out of her thoughts and looked Kyle who slept on the floor beside her small bed. "Yes?" "Go to sleep. We are here for you. Alex isn't going to let anyone take you away." Kyle said honestly. Alex was sleeping on the couch in the living room. "Alright, I'll try." She said and closed her eyes. Sleep did not come until morning so she decided to get ready to leave. Once she was, she woke Kyle up. While the boys got ready she went outside to meet Rexamus. "Hey there, good morning handsome." She stroked his soft hair and fed him some of his favourite fruits. "We're going on a trip buddy." Rexamus neighed happily at the word trip and licked the side of her face affectionately. "But not together. I'm sorry about that." Rexamus immediately grunted in disapproval. How could he travel without her? "Listen to me. You're going to meet me there, okay. Don't worry, my handsome horse." She cooed and he melted in her soft hands. Without wasting time, India placed her palm on the middle of Rexamus' forehead. He closed his eyes and waited for her as she whispered some unfamiliar words. India then pressed her palm on his forehead and pictured Silver Heights. She pictured the castle, Aeval, the Dark King and those beautiful gardens. Her eyes glowed as she did this and Rexamus knew exactly where he should be headed to. How could he forget the way? It was the first trip he ever took with his witch master. "You know where to meet me right buddy? Now go. And don't be afraid of anyone. They won't be able to touch you without getting hurt. Badly." With that she reached up and kissed the side of his head. The muscular, black stallion turned around and started towards the castle he knew all too well. "He's getting a head start?" Alex called from the doorway. "Yeap. I'm not leaving him here Alex." "I know you won't. Plus, he needs a vacation too." India chuckled at what Alex said. He looked at her and smiled, truly happy to hear her laugh. "Kyle! Are you ready?!" The king called out. "What's taking him so f*****g long?" "Relax, he's not a morning person." "It's too quiet India. Are you even sure he's awake?" ~~~~~ Kyle slept all the way to Silver Heights. It was after lunch time when they arrived. They could have arrived sooner but Kyle got ready like a slug.
