I stared at her number on my phone all through the night like it was the highest prize I had won. By the time I woke up in the morning, the award I had won was far gone from my mind.
It wasn't until I turned the news on that I remembered. It was indeed a peak that I had waited years for but even now, it wasn't worth it because I didn't have her.
If only I had seen the truth that was clear and not been a fool I would have had her with me, by my side as I conquered this peak.
“Anyway, it's done" I told myself in an attempt to distract my depressing thoughts.
