I looked away from him, not turning even when he took a seat. I didn’t want to give him the attention he wanted.
Before Mr. Jerry could leave, I called him back, “May I get another seat?” I asked politely. If there was anyway I could miss staying with Lucien then I wanted it.
He shook his head, “I’m sorry Ms. Vitale, unfortunately all seats have been designated and changes would disrupt a lot” he said letting me down slowly.
I smiled, agreeing with him even when I wanted to insist. Unfortunately coming back meant I would have to endure certain things I wasn’t comfortable with.
I felt his breath on my ear before he spoke, “You cant always run away from this” he said, his tone a little triumphant.
