“Mom asked for us to come for a dinner date with the whole family.”
I groaned as Lily's message popped up on my screen. But then I paused. That meant Lila was going to be there.
“What's the good news?” Light asked, c*****g an eyebrow at me.
“Nothing. There's a family dinner going on.” That made him frown.
“You hate going with Lily. Would Lila be there?”
“Of course,” I said, and he groaned.
“Aren't you tired?” He asked. “You've been trying to win her over for what seems like years now. Sending flowers and everything. What else are you planning on doing this evening?”
“I just want to see her. I can't get over the thought of what we might have been. It's not easy to actually keep up with that.”
