Lucien and I spoke for a while but as the conversation went on, I was eager for it to end. I wanted to go back to Olivia so we could talk about what would happen next, if we needed to pay money or anything.
“Are you listening?” he asked, his voice breaking through my thoughts and bringing me back to the present.
Startled, I answered him, “Yes, yes. I am fine. I was just trying to multi task” it wasn’t the truth but at least it wasn’t a lie either. I was indeed trying to multi task.
