That night I was able to sleep easier since Dante had reassured me a little. I knew Anna would come back to me or at least I really hoped she would. I wasn't ready to lose her and there wasn't anything I wouldn't do - even if it meant I had to do what was asked of me.
When I woke up the next day, I made sure to keep to time so that I could get James ready for school. He was awake when I reached his room, surprising since he always almost wasn't awake and ready when I was.
“Good morning mommy" he said when he saw me. His voice was small, the sleep still in his eyes.
