Meeting Greyson Russell

928 Words
(Avery's POV) I was finally ready, I decided to sit in the lounge and wait for Greyson to pick me up. I had to persuade my dad not to come, he'd only fan girl over the poor guy and I think I will be doing that for the both of us. I settled on the couch trying not to crease my dress and put friends on the TV, my favourite episode was on 'The One with the Embryo's'. Ross "What is Chandler Bing's job?" Monica "Something to do with transponding." Rachel "Oh! He's a.. he's a transpondster!" Monica "That's not even a word!" [beep] Monica "NOOOOOOO!" I love this episode when Monica and Rachel loose the apartment. [ding-dong] oh god it's 6pm already okay Avery breath don't rush out there fan girling you have a whole evening to talk to him and ask all your questions, don't freak the guy out. I went to the door and locked up placing the key in my bag I turned around and looked up and there he was Greyson Russell in the flesh stood outside the limo waiting for me. Breathe Avery. He is stunning his light brown hair a blue eyes he is definitely more handsome in person than in pictures and lice television. As I walk up to him I try not to act shy, I am so nervous right now. "Hello Greyson, I'm Avery it's lovely to meet you" I spoke to him. "Hello Avery, thank you for applying to spend the evening with me, after you". He pointed to the limo and waited for me to get in before he go in himself. As soon as Greyson was seating and the door closed, we were on the move to the restaurant. Greyson offered me a drink "We have wine, champagne or a soft drink if you'd prefer?" I accepted the glass of wine "a zinfandel if you have one please?" Greyson passed over the glass of rosè "I hope it's to your liking my lady" he joked. We sat and relaxed whilst listening to the radio on the way to the restaurant. I'd like to think I was relaxing but internally I was screaming that I was sat next to Greyson. We had made it to the restaurant early so Greyson offered for us to wait in the bar section of the restaurant and get to know each other before we were seated. "Excuse me, please could we have a glass of zinfandel and a perfect serve elderflower gin and tonic please" Greyson asked the bar tender. "Thank you very much for this evening" I thought I'd better thank him as I wouldn't be here if he didn't choose me at the competition. "It's only just started what are you thanking me for?" he joked with me. "Just for doing this competition in the first place and for actually choosing me. I was so shocked when I saw the congratulations email." We decided to get to know each other so I asked "Greyson what would you say makes you unique?" he looked at me shocked "that wasn't something I was expecting to be asked tonight, I think you should answer that first and let me have a think. I don't think I've ever been asked that before." I decided to answer first give him a few minutes to think of an answer, "I'd like to think that my relationship with my dad is unique. He was the one thar introduced me to Formula 1, we always went to the local go karting races together. For my 18th birthday he surprised me and took me to Silverstone for the whole weekend. He's very protective over me, we have moments where we are the best of friends and moments where he really acts like my father. I'd like tl think that there isn't a lot of father daughter relationships like that." I've always thought my relationship with my dad was one of a kind. "Wow, I know my dad is over protective with my sister, the whole daddy little princess even though she's older than me haha, but I've never seen them act like best friends, I guess that's a relationship to cherish." Greyson responded. "Go on, it's you turn to answer now" I informed him. "I'm passionate about things especially my career. I've always loved racing and go karting so making a career out of it has been a dream. I know there is so many guys in the racing career but I'd like to think my passion for the race is stronger than anyone out there" Greyson answered. "Yea I can see that on the starting grid every weekend, the amount of time and dedication you have for the race is unmeasurable." I responded. The waiter came over to let us know that our table was ready. The evening is about to begin. (Greyson's POV) She isn't like anyone I have ever met before, she's asking questions I wasn't expecting. I thought she would ask about what is it like behind the wheel of the F1 car? What made you get in to racing in the first place? But what makes me unique I didn't have an answer for that thought out, I genuinely do not think I have ever been asked that before. When she told me about her relationship with her dad, that's something I'd like to have with my daughter if I ever had the chance to be gifted with one. I can not wait to see where the rest of this evening goes.
