Chapter Thirty Four. Dinah’s POV ***** I should’ve known Lilah inviting me to brunch the next morning was a trap the second she texted: "Let’s bury the hatchet. Just us, no cameras". With a white heart emoji beside it. Hnph... No cameras, my ass. But of course, I’d said yes. Why? Because I was curious. I was curious if she was capable of saying something human for once. Curious if this sudden act of peace offering wasn’t just another way to publicly humiliate me. Spoiler alert: It totally was. I showed up to the restaurant dressed like I wasn’t about to have my entire life dissected over overpriced croissants. I looked classy but not kiss-ass. Confident, but not defensive. The kind of outfit that screamed: "Yes, I slapped you, and I'd do it again if you breathe wrong." Lilah
