Sean accompanied me upstairs to check every corner, making sure no one was hiding. Once we were certain, we turned our attention to the backyard. Tyrone had always insisted that having cover was essential during an escape. That's why we'd planted a few trees back there. Ironically, those trees were now providing cover for an intruder.
