'My stomach really hurt.' I looked down at my coat, the fabric pierced by the bullet. The pain made me gasp for air. Kent lay on the ground, laughing recklessly. He relaxed his arm, but the gun was still in his hand. Tyrone had already let him go and rushed towards me, even though I kept shaking my head at him. "Don't come over!" I spoke haltingly, the pain making it hard to form words. Tyrone ignored me completely. He held me in his arms, asking where I was shot, wanting to press on the wound to stop the bleeding. But I just wanted him to return and keep Kent under control, to stop him from shooting again. Kent had already gotten up. His mouth was bleeding from Tyrone's blows.
