Mattew pushed open the front door with Delilah still unconscious in his arms. He could feel her breathing, steady but faint, rising and falling against him as he carried her inside. He had only taken a few steps into the house when he stopped abruptly. Someone was already there. Alistair stood in the middle of the living room as if she had been waiting for him all along. Her arms were crossed, and her eyes immediately dropped to Delilah’s unconscious form. Mattew narrowed his gaze. “How did you find my house?” Alistair did not look surprised or bothered by the question. Her expression stayed calm as she answered. “I went to your workplace first, but you weren’t there.
