Mattew let out a slow breath as Delilah suddenly stood in front of him, fully dressed and clearly ready to drag him somewhere he did not plan for.
“Mattew, come with me to the store,” she said.
He blinked once, clearly not expecting that. “What?”
“I need to buy some clothes,” she repeated, as if that explained everything.
Mattew leaned slightly against the doorway and sighed. “Go by yourself. Why are you disturbing me at this hour?”
Delilah crossed her arms and scoffed. “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe because the last time I went out alone, Alistair almost got me killed?” she replied sharply. Then she narrowed her eyes at him. “Or have you already forgotten about the Rutherford family waiting for another chance to strike? Or do you want me to get attacked again?”
