Chapter 1

1010 Words
With a speed of 55 kilometer per hour, I'm sure that I will arrive at my destination safe and sound. I will be back in our mansion before anyone notices that I sneaked out. I just want to see this year's Summer Festival at Santiago. I will not stay long. I just want to watch the event's grand firework display. Not that I haven't watch a firework display before, I just think that watching it with thousands of people is a must experience and I can't miss it anymore. I look in the screen of my phone again. I instantly smiled after I saw that I'm just 500 meters away from the famous Buktot beach where the annual beach party is held. My grasp on the SUV's steering wheel tightened. Excitement coated every veins of my body. Volts of electricity kicked in to join these mix emotions of mine. "Oh My God!" My heart automatically stops its mini celebration after the car that I'm driving bumped with another car. I'm sure of it, it's my fault. Emergency bells inside of my head start ringing after I saw the owner steps out of his car. He checked the back of his sports car. Fears crept in me. It defeated all the emotions that's lingering around my body after I saw how the total stranger's jaw clenched. He glides in front of my car and pound its hood simultaneously. My fears get out of hand. I can't control them anymore that tears starts to slips out of my eyes. I saw how his mouth open to say these words, "Get down," he taunted me and hits the hood again. With terribly trembling hands, I unbuckled my seatbelt. For a moment I was hesitant. Should I go out like he told me or should I just drive to get away with this? My eyes sees his Audi R8. I should not do it. I'm sure that he'll chase me down and I can't escape. Damn! I should have just stayed home and watched Netflix like my ordinary night. I opened the door. "I'm s-sorry. I... I will pay for the damages. My parents could even buy you a new c-car," I said with my eyes pasted to the ground. I heard him bark a mocking laugh. No matter how much I tried to avoid looking directly at him, my eyes defy me. I was hypnotized by how his hooded eyes with forest green orbs holds all his grudges for me. Ibixa, you're crazy. Why would you be amazed that someone is blazing mad at you? His scrutinizing eyes landed on me again after he looks up and sighed irritably. "I just need to call my parents and they will be in charge with this—," "Go call your parents. I'll call the police." My eyes pops out of its socket. Do he really have to do that? I'm already nineteen. I'm in the legal age. Will I get a criminal charge for this even if it's just an accident? Oh, my gosh! What a failed escaped, Ibixa. "Wait, Mister." He looked down on my left hand after I grab his arms as if we're close. I withdrew my hold of him and stood up straight. "I told you already. I can pay for the damages. My parents just needs to come over!" I yelled in deep frustration. His brows furrowed. I covered my mouth and gave him an apologetic look before I looked away. I walk back to my car and grab my phone from the dash board. I smiled bitterly after I saw a five missed call from Dad and Mom. Great, I think they know now that I am not home. Dad's number flashes against the screen. As much as I want to reject his phone call and talk to him after I get home, I can't. I need him here. I need his connection and name to bring me out of this mess. I stare at the enraged stranger who is looking back at me. I sighed before sliding the green phone icon to answer his call. "Ibixa Fivel!" Raw anger is very evident on Maximus Fivel's voice that I needed to take the phone away from my ears for a fleeting second. I breathe out. "Dad, I need you here, please," I murmured. The tone of his voice changes from angry to worrisome very quick. After explaining what happened and the important information that they need to know to get here he ended the call. I put my phone on the pocket of my jeans. "My parents are on their way, Mister." I look around. Minutes passed and I'm not seeing patrol car or police. Glad he didn't call one. We can settle this with all by ourselves, I'm sure of it. I instantly stood up straight after I saw a black sedan. That's my Daddy's car. I smiled. I feel relieved. I am now safe. I don't have to worry anymore. "Mom!" I run in her arms. Ferina Fivel checked for possible wounds or bruises in my body and when she sees none, she caged me in her arms. "Don't you ever do this again, Ibixa!" she said with her warning voice. After tonight, I am sure that I won't do this again. My eyes found the total stranger staring blankly at eyes with dark expression all over his face. Why does he look so furious now than before? "Maximus Fivel, I thought you and your wife only have one child? Your first born, Maxence Fivel." My forehead gets crumpled like a piece of paper at what I have heard. He knows my parent and they know him too? Maximus grab me and my mother to hide from his back. Holding on my father's Armani coat, I peek and saw that the stranger is staring straight at me. "Ender, let us explain, Ibixa... s-she's—" "I had enough of your lies. Expect me in your mansion within this week. Your overdue debt needs to get paid."
