" Ahoy " Robert shouted while holding a wooden sword " don't move " He was playing pirates while his sisters Hannah, Lily and Cherry were sewing aprons. The atmosphere was nice and cool which made them decide on staying outside for their chores. " I want a yellow scarf " Cherry said as she stitched her work. " and a pink bag " " Do you also want an orange shoe with it " Lily asked mockingly. " Yh and that too " Cherry answered not getting the sarcasm behind Lilly's words. " And maybe I can rhyme it with black gloves " She added which resulted to Lily bursting out in laughter and Hannah shaking her head in pity. " What, you don't like my idea " she asked due to their reaction. " No it's perfect " Lily answered before letting out another round of laughter. Her reaction made Cherry give her an uncertain look before going back to her work. " Maybe it isn't good after all " she muttered. " Have you girls seen Matilda today " she asked instantly brushing out the topic of her choices. " No " Lily answered still trying to control her laughter. " She went with the elders to the Beareau"Hannah said "Again " Lily asked astonished " aunt Martha treats that girl better than her best magician " she added. " Isn't it forbidden " Cherry asked " Isn't what forbidden " Lily replied not getting her question. " Going into the Beareau " Cherry said " Yes , it is forbidden " Hannah replied " But some exceptions can be made in time of dire need " " Food for the northern Covens will be brought from the Beareau due to the drought " She explained. " Still isn't it too much how Matilda is being treated " Lilly asked "I think aunt Martha just Fancy's her a lot" Cherry chipped " We will see about that " Hannah replied with an evil glint in her eyes " about what " Cherry asked. " Many things sister. Many things " Hannah answered. The road was silent as Matilda and her aunts rode on it. Her aunt had told her that they were going to the Beareau to get food for the Covens, because the drought had affected the whole northern province. She sometimes thought it strange that the people of Harvabridge had their town divided into only three parts, when the mass of land was big enough to contain twenty more. Well, that was actually none of her business but she sometimes wondered what the Barrels looked like since the Covens looked like a small town while the Beareau had a contrasting big city appearance. She wondered if she would be seeing Lenore again, the very thought of looking him in the eye gave her butterflies and littered goosebumps down her body. She just couldn't get the damned good looking guy out her mind and she paid for it every night by dreaming of him of him and his sweet gentle touch. Ugh Matilda, get a hang of yourself, she thought as she shook her head as if shaking the thoughts of Lenore away, but it didn't take her long to realize that her efforts were no use. " Are we going to the house today " she asked hoping to go in search of Lenore once they get there. " No honey, we are heading straight to the fields to gather the harvests " Martha replied " Any problem " she asked " No nothing I just wanted to see the view one more time " she replied Aunt Martha gave her a smile before saying " Do not worry dear, we will visit the house soon " The statement gained a scoff from Aunt Magi and a smile from Aunt Alex. What the f**k is wrong with her, Matilda screamed internally after observing Magi. " How many bags are we to harvest in a day " Alex asked " Fifty " Martha replied. " Hmmm, how interesting " Magi commented " But it still baffles me how you managed to convince the Base lord to give out tremendously a food as rare as wheat " Martha's hands gripped the steering wheel harder as she said " That's none of your business ". She was getting fed up with Magi's nonsense behavior and greed for power and she knew that a day would come, when she would have to take proper disciplinary actions, but for now she was going to keep calm and keep on trying to fix things. Her outburst made everyone silent as they could all tell that she was angry, but she looked at the mirror to see Magi's expression and knew that everthing wasn't how it used to be. She had the expression of a snake who had its eyes on a prey with its plans and arms in place, and right there Martha DuPont took a difficult decision. She had to be eliminated. The weather was bright as workers parked the wheats in bags , and Devin Wilson knew that not one of these workers were happy packing food for the Covens. They have been out working since morning and he was already tired of supervising and wanted nothing but a hot shower and his bed. "Am going down to supervise the lower fields" Lenore told him " Take care of things up here " " Okay " Devin answered as he watched Lenore climb down the field. Lenore had always been his best friend and brother since they were little. After the day he had found him covered in black smoke and strings from the Covens attack on his family, they had been inseparable. " What's up with you " he had asked Lenore, the first time he saw him in the woods after escaping from the Beareau Base because he had never seen anywhere outside its walls. " Bear " he had answered. " What " he had asked confused " A bear did this to you " he asked while looking at the sickly looking boy covered in black smoke and strings that seemed to poke holes into his body and concluded that he was daft. " Bear " the boy said again while pointing at something past his shoulder, he didn't care to look cause the boy must be very daft to think that a bear could attach strings to a persons body, but when he heard a deep low growl coming from behind his head instantly snapped to the direction, as the bear jumped to get a hold a hold of him, but the boy pushed him to the ground and the bear jumped over him into a sharp pointed sword that stuck to a tree branch, the sword caught deep into the bears throat and the growl ceased. He was shocked and shaky as he just experienced a near death experience, but he looked up to see the look of triumph in the boys eyes which made him feel stupid, the feeling instantly aggravated him as he snapped. " s**t, you just ruined my shirt with your smoke ridden infection " The memory made him smile as he walked through the fields, but his smile faded when he heard the sound of a dying engine and looked up to see Matilda climb down with her aunts.
