Mila’s POV
The warmth of his kisses spread through my body as I gripped his shirt, pulling him closer, desperate for more. I wasn’t sure if it was the alcohol, but I was completely lost in the sweet taste of this man, unwilling to let the moment end.
His kisses made my mind go blank. I forgot everything and everyone around me.
That was exactly what I wanted.
To forget.
Forget about him.
Forget about the name I refused to think about or say out loud.
Soon, Armando pulled away, giving me a chance to breathe, though it felt impossible with the heat in his gaze. His eyes were filled with raw desire, making my breath catch. I couldn’t look away. There was something about the way he looked at me that made me feel completely trapped.
A playful smirk formed on his lips as he brushed his fingers down my face.
“Damn... You are breathtaking,” he whispered, his lips close to my ear. “I want you so bad right now. Come to my place.”
His words froze me.
My feet felt glued to the floor, my toes curling against the ground as my mind filled with a thousand thoughts.
Should I tell him I had never done this before?
Would he think I was strange? A twenty-four-year-old virgin?
Did I even want him to be my first?
I barely knew him.
Then reality hit me.
I was drunk.
And I was about to make a decision I might regret.
But what did it matter?
I had to lose it eventually.
And who better than a handsome man with a broad British accent?
“Yeah... I’d love that,” I said with a smile, shifting my weight and hoping he wouldn’t notice how drunk I really was.
We left the club, and the cold night air hit me immediately, sending a shiver through my body. Armando quickly removed his jacket and placed it around my shoulders, pulling me closer.
I instantly felt warmer.
“Thank you,” I said, smiling up at him.
He only nodded.
When his car arrived, he opened the door for me.
Such a gentleman.
Why couldn’t Mr. Harris be like this?
The thought slipped into my mind before I pushed it away.
I wasn’t thinking about him tonight.
Tonight, I was finally going to move on.
The car stopped in front of a tall building, and Armando led me inside. We stepped into the elevator, and a few moments later, we arrived at a stunning penthouse.
I stared around in disbelief.
It was beautiful.
“Welcome to my little abode,” Armando said behind me.
I laughed.
“Little? This is huge!”
I stumbled toward a large portrait hanging on the wall.
“Leonardo da Vinci,” I said, slightly hiccupping. “I love Leonardo.”
“Yeah, he’s my favorite too,” Armando replied.
His hand wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer.
He turned me around to face him, and I saw that same intensity in his eyes.
Only this time, it was stronger.
Hotter.
My breath caught.
He gently lifted my face, and before I could say anything, his lips crashed against mine.
This kiss was different.
It was rougher. More demanding.
It consumed me completely, leaving no room for thoughts.
His lips moved away from mine and traveled down my neck, kissing and sucking against my skin.
“Angel knows how to choose them,” he murmured.
The moment I heard Angel’s name, something inside me shattered.
Suddenly, tears filled my eyes.
Then I started crying.
Right there in front of Armando.
He immediately pulled away, confusion crossing his face.
“Hey, it’s okay,” he said softly, wiping my tears. “We don’t have to do anything if you’re not ready.”
“I’m sorry,” I whispered through my tears, feeling embarrassed.
“Don’t apologize,” he said gently. “We can just cuddle and sleep. I’ll take the couch if that makes you more comfortable.”
“No,” I said quickly. “I don’t want to be alone. Stay with me.”
I gave him a small, embarrassed smile.
Armando nodded and kissed me softly.
Even with tears still on my face, he kissed me with tenderness instead of impatience.
Then he took my hand and led me to his bedroom.
He gave me some clothes to change into, and I took a shower.
When I returned, we lay in bed together. Armando wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead.
“Sleep well, precious,” he whispered.
I nodded, feeling the alcohol and emotions finally catching up with me.
Within minutes, I fell into a deep sleep.
The Next Morning
I woke up with the worst hangover of my life.
Groaning, I turned my head and saw Armando sleeping peacefully beside me.
Slowly, memories from the night before returned.
Thank God we didn’t go further.
I could barely remember everything clearly, and the thought of losing my virginity while drunk made me uncomfortable.
Then I remembered crying in front of him.
My cheeks burned with embarrassment.
How could I have broken down like that in front of someone I barely knew?
I quickly got dressed, wanting to leave before he woke up. I couldn’t handle an awkward conversation.
I was already embarrassed enough.
I made my way home, brewed a strong cup of coffee, and rushed to work.
“Damn, I’m never drinking on a work night again,” I muttered.
But even I knew that was a lie.
Somewhere in my mind, I knew I would probably be back to those bottles again.
When I arrived at the company, I finally checked Maya’s messages.
She must have been worried after I disappeared from the club without telling her.
I replied, letting her know I was fine and promising to explain everything later.
As I walked toward the office, I read her funny reply.
A small smile formed on my lips.
Until I saw him.
Mr. Harris was standing there waiting for me.
The smile disappeared instantly.
“You’re late, Miss Brown,” he said angrily, walking toward me.
“I’m sorry, sir. It won’t happen again,” I replied, avoiding his gaze.
But he didn’t allow me to.
He stepped closer.
His fingers brushed against my face, forcing me to look at him.
The familiar scent of his cologne surrounded me, and my body reacted before my mind could stop it.
I wanted him to hold me.
No.
I couldn’t fall back into this again.
What was he doing?
What did he want from me?
He confused me more than anyone ever had.
One moment, he looked at me like I was the only person in the world.
The next, he was kissing another woman.
His eyes suddenly moved to my neck.
The mark.
The one I hadn’t realized was there.
His expression changed instantly.
He stepped back, running a hand through his hair.
“How did you get that mark?” he asked, his voice low and filled with anger.
I blinked.
Then I remembered.
Armando.
I touched the spot lightly.
“Sir, I don’t think it’s any of your business what I do in my private life,” I replied, crossing my arms.
For once, I didn’t feel small in front of him.
I felt powerful.
And I liked it.
Mr. Harris’s face darkened.
Without another word, he turned around and stormed into his office, slamming the door behind him.
A strange satisfaction filled me.
It wasn’t only he who had a private life.
I straightened my shoulders and returned to work.
The rest of the day passed quietly. He didn’t call me. He didn’t send for me.
When work finally ended, all I wanted was to go home and rest.
I headed toward the lobby, but the moment I stepped outside, I froze.
Armando was standing there.
Holding a bouquet of roses.
“Hey, precious,” he said with a playful smile.
I stared at him.
“Armando, what are you doing here?”
“I came to take you to dinner,” he said with a laugh. “You left this morning without saying goodbye, and I thought maybe I did something wrong. So I thought dinner could make it up.”
I smiled at his effort, but worry immediately filled me.
“You shouldn’t have come here, Armando.”
Before he could answer, the doors behind us opened.
Angel Harris stepped outside.
The moment his eyes landed on Armando, his entire expression changed.
The anger in his eyes was impossible to miss.
“What the hell are you doing here, Armando?” Angel snapped. “Aren’t you supposed to be in London?”
Armando only smirked.
“Oh, Angel. Don’t be like that. I came to take my precious out for dinner.”
His smile widened.
“Last night was f*****g amazing.”
He winked at Angel, pulled me closer, and kissed the mark on my neck.
Before I could react, Angel grabbed my arm and pulled me away from him, placing me behind his body.
Then he attacked.
His fist connected with Armando’s face.
Again.
And again.
Fury poured from him as he hit him, as he had completely lost control.
