After talking to Alexis, everything seemed to fall apart. I tried to lose myself in the pile of work on my desk, but no matter how hard I tried, my mind just wouldn’t focus.
Her words hit me harder than I expected. I tried to ignore them, but they kept echoing in my mind, poking at things I didn’t want to face. I wished I’d just stayed home and avoided all of this.
