Chapter 6Annie’s face flashed in my mind’s eye as we made our way towards her. Nearly thirty years have passed and we’ve aged. Time is cruel to women, but Hailey seemed to have held off the march of time better than yours truly. It’s true my breasts are bigger but so are my hips. Hailey had gained weight as well but not as much as me. Her hair is much shorter, falling just past her shoulders and she’d put a light perm through it recently. She was wearing a peach-coloured top with jeans and a jacket and there was a momentary pause as we stopped in front of each other and then she smiled and threw her arms around me.
“I can’t believe you’re actually here,” she squeezed me, “you look better in the flesh than online, and you’ve got glasses now, very distinguished.”
