I couldn’t tear my eyes away from Eden. Even as she sat close to Marcus at the little table in the town’s saloon, my wolf stirred with a ton of unknown feelings. The animal and I had both been fascinated by her playful attitude with the coyote pups. And we’d been even more smitten with the way she so easily slipped into a maternal role. Foxes were known for their playfulness, but I’d never met a fox shifter before. The way she teased me, teased us, and then seemed unfazed by the coyote alpha, one of the most powerful shifters in the state, had me in awe of her courage.
