Margorie was setting the shakes on the table when I arrived. She gave me a sly expression but I simply shrugged and slipped into my seat. “Looks great,” I mumbled, telling her she wasn’t going to get any info out of me.
“You know that’s a public restroom,” she scolded, although I didn’t miss the little grin pulling at her lips.
I shoved a fry into my mouth and gave her a wink. “You keep it very clean.”
She huffed and spun on her heal. As she walked back toward the register, Eden stepped out from the hallway and slunk over to the table. I laughed and had to tease. “You look as guilty as hell.”
She threw her napkin at me and blushed. “Shut up.”
“Stop blushing.”
“I can’t!”
