I stared at my hands, wringing them together like I used to do as a child, and wondered if I’d just ruined the best thing to come into my life. Lying to Seth, going behind his back…that wouldn’t be something he’d be able to forgive easily. Especially after everything he shared with me last night. I knew he was like me—closed off, a loner, and someone who didn’t like to let others inside his head. Yet he did with me last night as we lay in bed and talked and laughed and made love for hours upon hours.
And now I’d betrayed him for my own selfish reasons.
