Chapter 6: You are mine

Dylan's POV

A week before Claiming Anna

The cold air swept my sweat-drenched face as I jogged around the village here at a Barangay in Cebu City. It's been 3 months already since my arrival but something still keeps nagging on my head lately and for some reason, I have this gut feeling that I'll find something or someone that I'll definitely possess. 

Still have no idea what that is, I decided to carry on my daily routine. I jog around the large village early in the morning, then I work late at night. Being a CEO of a large company where the impossible exists is definitely a different kind of job that you surely don't want to take. 

A young woman walked past me, and I caught a whiff of her scent. Her intoxicating aroma filled my nose and spread itself shamelessly inside my systems, making me give out an uncontrolled growl. Sure enough, my eyes are now at their golden color, and if it isn't for the dark moonless sky, I'm sure my fangs are visible enough to the public.

I wonder why I'm about to lose my head because of a single scent of a woman. For centuries, I am a master of holding back my urges to drink human blood. But things changed because of that woman.

 Good thing that it's already late and only a few are still walking around while some are still devoured inside their cellphones. Poor thing, they are missing the real beauty of nature here. 

Unable to get on my grip any longer, I followed her and a tiny plan laid itself inside my beautiful brain. 

Dinner is served 

I smirked at the thought.

The perilous path carved itself as we traversed the steep roads toward her neighborhood. Following behind her silently, I observed her long black hair that cascaded beautifully behind her back. I wonder how it must feel if I brush my hands on its soft locks. 

What the f**k am I even thinking?

Then I noticed that she's wearing cute pink shorts and a white tank top. How foolish. She walks in such a dangerous place yet she wears that kind of clothes. She's definitely oblivious to the dangers lurking around her place. No wonder I caught her scent too easily..what bothers me is her intoxicating aroma which is definitely inviting all of my inner urges to surface. 

This woman's night will surely be a feast for me.

After a moment, we reached an area that has two opposite roads that both stretched endlessly inside a very dark alley. She paused for a moment as if she's having a tiny battle on which path to take.

Don't tell me she forgot where she lives now?

She took a right turn then changed her mind and went for the left instead. A tiny smile crept its way on my lips. I think I'm finding this rather amusing while I ignore the growing hunger inside my stomach. 

Perhaps tiny foreplay can make the meal even more enticing for a hungry vampire such as I am. 

"Oh crap, where was that again?" I heard her mumble under her breath. "Ugh s**t, my phone's down, damn ck Anna you are so lucky tonight" 

Realizing that she must be having real trouble finding her house, I finally stepped out into the light. 

I think I might be of some huge help to her. 

"Are you lost ?" I asked in a gentle manner to avoid scaring her. Her head turned towards my direction and for a second, all of my urges went out wild and a sudden yet unfamiliar feeling overwhelmed me. If I wasn't quick with my actions, this woman isn't standing on her own feet in front. 

who is she?

"No I'm not but who are you?" she asked without even a hint of fear inside her dark orbs. "are you, okay sir? your eyes looked weird" after speaking, she went on to her chosen direction while completely ignoring me. 

I was taken aback by her reaction towards me. No intimidation, not a single trace of agitation or panic was seen on her face. 

For some reason that frustrated me. Nobody turns their back on me.

Walking briskly after her, I grabbed her arm and slammed her on the wall. She surely knows how to put herself in danger because we are now at a very dark corner where not a single soul would even choose to place themselves in. 

"what the hell is your problem?" she snapped, her eyes throwing off a look that even made my insides tremble with desire. What on earth is happening to me?!

"Who are you?" I growled. 

Why do you create such huge havoc inside me by doing such tiny things?

"it's rude to answer a question with another question and could you please let go of my hand?!" She demanded as she tried to yank her arm off from my grasp. "You're the one who approached me with such weird manners and now you're mad at some unknown reason! dude if you have a problem put me out of it!" she rambled as she stared at my eyes, again with no hint of fear or even panic.

"what's your name?" I growled in a low yet menacing manner. My eyes are now glowing into a very bright gold color, and my fangs have finally shown their true length. I want her to take it as a warning but she just stared at me.

"It's.. Anna" my eyes were glued to her lips as it moved and spoke her name that sent weird tickles inside my stomach.

Then I caught it again, her intoxicating smell that is currently driving me mentally and physically insane. Thousands of thoughts are now swarming inside my brain on how to claim her as my own.

a voice rang inside my head, demanding me in such a weird way..

So, she's my mate?

Now that's interesting...

I lowered my head and buried it inside the crook of her neck. I inhaled deeply and felt the sensation of her dancing inside my soul. Who knew that I'd find this woman in a place such as this?

I can't help it. Her skin is begging me to pierce my throbbing fangs into her flesh. 

I want to claim her now, but it's not the right time. 

Realizing that she had frozen in her spot, I brushed my hands into her hair, untangling the knots to free her beautiful locks. My actions seemed to have relaxed her, making me smile.

"Perhaps now is not the right time princess. but I want you to remember this.." I whispered against her ear, making her shiver underneath me. Kissing her forehead in a gentle manner, I gave her a tiny message that's filled with promise. 

Soon, my dearest Anna, I shall claim you. You will be a gift to me, and no one else shall have you.

"You are mine"
